Could somebody refresh my memory as to why we should choose a MINI LACK specifically in OSCE examinations when they refer to the patient having a dental?

RE: OSCE

Thank you everybody.

You all have it spot on, we had confirmation that the APL valve is far enough away from the patient for IPPV/interference etc

RE: OSCE

My understanding is it's due to the bag and valve being kept out of the way during dental surgery, or any surgery that takes place around the head for that matter :)

RE: OSCE

So far as I can remember its because of where the APL valve is placed as its away from the patients mouth?? Im sure your college or CC would be able to definitively answer your question though x

RE: OSCE

Not sure of an OSCE specific answer, but technially I can't think of a reson to choose a mini lack over a Tpiece specifically for a dental. General reasons would be its more cost effective and possibly better at maintaining core temp.

If the choice is between an adult Lack, and a Magil, reason would be that the APL valve is away from the patients mouth.

Not sure if that helps! Sorry if not!
