The smallest aperture we have is 25mm which is too big. I cannot find one smaller than this and do not want to include the eyes in this one.

RE: anaesthetic mask for a mouse

my version of this is stretch a bit of latex glove over outlet of your anaesthetic circuit secure with a rubber band, small nick in the resulting latex diaphragm , stick mouses nose through hole. when finished remove the latex and rubber band - this works well for me with the very tiny ones. On the slightly bigger furries it is possible to adapt a vacutainer holder quite succesfully

RE: anaesthetic mask for a mouse

Cut the end of the teat from a puppy feeding teat, turn it round and poke a small et attachment through the end (where the hole is), glue in place, mouses nose goes in the cut end. Hopefully this makes sense, I'm not sure how to word it!! We used to have to make different ones of all sorts of shapes and sizes for different species!

RE: anaesthetic mask for a mouse

Hi, Thank you. Yes I have done that but vet would be happier if there is a purpose built one as she is very sensitive to Iso. as it gives her a migraine...

RE: anaesthetic mask for a mouse

Here's what I do, take a large glove and cut out the palm of it, ie cut up sides of wrist and then cut off fingers to make largest square of latex/rubber possible. I then cut a tiny nick in the centre of it, get your regular smallest mask and place nick over where you want mouse's nose. This might be slightly off centre if you want mouse to not have his nose pointing upwards, ie so it's low down close to table. then use tape to tack the edges of your latex piece in place and finish by taping continuously all around under the rim of the mask, making sure to pull the latex taunt. Will try to find you a photo!! Make hole much smaller than you think as once it's stretched it gets bigger!!
