I know about Program injection - anytime I've given it, it seems to sting. It's for my own cat and I don't want her hating me more than she already does.
Are there any tablets

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

Personally with seresto (depending on your cat I guess) I find they get lost quite easily but the reps have said that if you tell them when a collar has gone walkabouts they will replace it as long as you don't take the biscuit.

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

How about Seresto collar (still kind of topical but not a spot-on)

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

Might have to look into comfortis!
Comfortis speed of kill is pretty insane - 30 minutes and the fleas are dying. It's a little spooky, actually.

Kills fleas really quickly, the halo of dead fleas around an infested cat sat in kennels can be quite spectacular! Really good for flea allergic animals. Occasionally causes vomitting (mainly dogs) but manufacturers will replace wasted tablet.

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

I have never used Comfortis either hence the question mark - in fact I haven't come across anybody who has been using it in cats yet - like yourself I would be interested if anybody can report back on efficacy. Yep you are right on the Capstar its only a short term solution but if you have an indoor cat and you manage the environmental side its quite good (not always so good if you work in a practice with lots of flea ridden animals tho as there is always the risk you will take a 'itchhiker' home with you)

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

I've never used Comfortis so I wasn't sure if it actually worked.

Also haven't used Capstar in years, does that have a lasting effect? I remember using it before putting a dog on Program Plus to kill any fleas that they had but didn't think it lasted any time?

RE: Non topical flea treatment for cats

Comfortis?
