Am using Idexx at the moment. Really liked the simplicity and speed of Abaxis, and yes, as it is classed as a 'semi wet', it is a lot cheaper than 'dry' slides. The new Idexx catalyst one and Lasercyte is again very easy to use, but have to say that my previous experience using Abaxis makes it my preferred machine.

RE: Abaxis vs Idexx

Sal, I guess it depends on what you are looking to achieve with the investment / upgrade.

I wrote a non-partisan article for the VBJ in 2016 - https://www.vettimes.co.uk/article/fab-lab-how-to-make-the-most-of-your-in-house-diagnostics/ (you will need to register to read if not already registered)

IDEXX keeps developing new and innovative products and services which you may or may not be aware of - if you visit www.idexx.eu or follow IDEXX UK on social media you will find out more about these developments and how they offer solutions for animal health, happier owners and a healthy practice.

kind regards
