We use NVS for the bulk of it, IMS Veterinary for cheap stuff and Vet Direct and Burtons.

But if we can find it cheaper we will shop around.

We are with Henry schein. We have negotiated deals on some of our consumables though do still get some bits from ims eg paper towel roll. We get some of our human generics from raman pharma who are very helpful and competitive.

we don't bother arguing too much if I am honest. if needs be I source elsewhere or we just write a script and client gets it from the chemist - that way client is happy and the patient gets treated and the wholesaler loses out. We have a similar attitude to pet food - we don't stock it unless its a specific order for a medical case. We can't compete with those that stack the waiting room with it or PAH just down the road - so we don't. If its pet food somebody wants we direct them to the pet shop or the supermarket

I've seen that before too Sal. At my last practice, we compiled a list of meds/items that were insanely marked up and pulled the rep in about it. A week or so of back and forth and the mutterings of leaving them and those prices were amended...

Do you mean wholesaler?

I'm familiar with NVS and Centaur. We swapped to Centaur 2 years ago, we had a few teething problems at first which resulted in me saying 'that wouldn't have happened with NVS' but on the whole they're fine.

We order some things from Vet Direct and get a good service from them, Burtons is good for equipment and again good and fast service. We have used IMS for consumables but I'm not keen. (These are only my opinions though).
