Wouldn't be using any human drugs on your cat. Especially if you don-t know what you are doing. Surely your vet has advised you on next move? Yes some human drugs can be used on animals - but there are side effects. Speak with you Vet rather than posting here - best way forward.

I agree. Definately wouldnt give my cat human antibiotic. Different doses and strength. I would also would have assumed you would have been given a prescription if they did have antibiotics to give out. I would be looking for a new vet ASAP.

IMO no, there are many different antibiotics and which antibiotic you need, and what dose it needs to be given at can vary based on the patient, history and medical condition. Even knowing which antibiotic to give the dose would need to be calculated specifically for your pet.

Personally i would find a different vet, if they have said that your cat need antibiotics but they dont have them and have given you no provision for obtaining them, not even a prescription, then i would not return to that vet ever
