I have a dog that needs to loose about 6kg. He is on feedwell and his owner will not change to a different food. I tried to work out calories but can't figure it out. On the bag and their website it says

Protein 18%
Fat 6%
Crude Fibre 3.5%
Inorganic

RE: Can't figure this out

I use it for that. They tell me what they feed and I find the nutritional analysis online then use the app to find calories. Also use it to work out rda for inpatients.

RE: Can't figure this out

Ah Rebecca thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I can't wait to get playing. I think for my weight clinics I'll go round the local shops and take pics of their foods and have it for clients how much in Calories the food is worth

RE: Can't figure this out

I'm glad he's seen the light and using Satiety.

Just to let you know, Royal Canin have released a free app for calculating energy in food. Its called "energy calculator" you just enter the % content of each nutrient and it tells you the energy content. Its not just for RC foods either, I have it on my phone and have found it really useful and saves so much time rather than manually working it all out.

Couldn't believe it when I called him today and spoke to him about his food (and how crap it is lol) he came in and bought satiety! Woohoo

RE: Can't figure this out

James Colver Cert.
Could you let us know the target weight of the dog?

RE: Can't figure this out

Steph that's exactly what I got too. But most food etc says per 100g or something and it didn't say so wasn't sure. This owner is actually feeding less than necessary calories then

RE: Can't figure this out

Hi this might help you working out the calories (which I got to be about 3047.5 Kcal/Kg I think!!) and then working out his requirements
