But if your looking for an accredited course then theres other options out there to do an online and then get practical hand ons experience in practice

RE: Veterinary physiotherapy courses for nurses

Hello ladies,

I would strongly suggest that you only consider courses that are on the QCF framework and associated with universities. As the industry moves toward regulation you will find it difficult to register with any of the special interest groups or join the proposed registers without at least a level 6 university accredited industry specific qualification.

hope this helps PM if need any more details

RE: Veterinary physiotherapy courses for nurses

Hi im very interested in physiotherapy courses to, did you manage to do a distance learning course?
There are many different options depending on your current circumstances, work, money etc.

You have courses such as Justo Development which I guest speak on. This is run by Katie Lawrence who is the chair of ASSVAP (Association for the Scientific Study of Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapy).

You have TCAP which are based near Thame.

You have CEPT Training as well as Harper Adams and Writtle Uni / College.

I am a qualified Veterinary Physio so feel free to ping questions my way!

RE: Veterinary physiotherapy courses for nurses

I know harper Adams do physio degrees. There's very few around that are worth doing to be honest, the one I did was really expensive and to be honest I didn't think was great, we didn't do much practical experience and most was reading out of big books they had made and then handing in assignments. The best physio you can do is actually study human physio and then a top up course in animal physio. But i didn't have time for that and wasn't interested enough to commit to do another course!! I haven't done anything with my qualification since so I would advise you get lots of practical experience with someone before you decide to do it! And most of the jobs out of it would be in referral practice where the surgeons can refer on to a physio. Rehab covers different types of treatments not just physio but it's handy to know what I have learned but not worth the money!

RE: Veterinary physiotherapy courses for nurses

I would also like to know this, Ive heard mixed information such as the need to do a human physiotherapy course first?
