I drain it, wipe down with Anistel, flush through and refill weekly but we go through a lot of kits so it starts to smell after a few days so have been replacing more often but it still

RE: Care of ultrasonic cleaner

The use of ultrasonic cleaners has grown over the years. It is a good idea as you suggest to wipe down and clean the bath and parts exposed to fluid with a suitable disinfectant (such as ANIGENE or CHEMGENE wipes) at each changeover, but you may also wish to consider an appropriate method to clean any tray / basket used to immerse instruments (if you have one) to ensure that biofilm is not building up or contributing to the problem. Guidance would suggest that as much surface detritus is rinsed thoroughly from the instrument concerned before it is immersed to reduce potential contamination of cleaning fluid. Enzymatic products such as REPROZYME contain a blend of amylase, lipase and protease enzymes to help lift organic material such as fibrin and mucus from the surfaces of instruments. Combined with ultrasonic methods this organic material is left in suspension within the fluid and as such the cleaning fluid should be changed regularly.
