i have in my head that if a cat has a repeat blood transfusion the risk of getting a transfusion reaction increases - is this the case? Does anyone have any info on this please?

cats ideally should be cross matched from transfusion 1 but it is ESSENTIAL from transfusion 2 (as do dogs).

Cats however must ALWAYS be blood typed, dogs you can get away with giving a negative donation to as a first transfusion (and a 2nd IF given within 48 hours of the first) if you give me your email address I'm sure I've got some notes on it somewhere
