timely warning Caro - I already knew because you had warned me but for anybody else it could be useful to know. ( plus I never wear jewellery)

I was thinking more of the people who have told me iodine is a crap prep - but to be honest in the 6 years I have been there I can recall only 3 wound breakdowns and I can't pin any of those on a faulty prep (a dog which persistently interfered with wound because o refused to use buster collar, a MCT removal which broke down post suture removal and an ulcerated, huge mammary tumour removal.)

I do Sal l do.... if you wear gold ring/s do NOT get iodine on them instant discolour l had to have mine polished by a jeweller. Iodine is used to disolve gold out the rock so be careful.

just another name for non woven swabs - we use topper 12.

other producers do them as well under various names

We use Topper 8 swabs for initial skin prep, fewer stray bits
