does anyone know what the safe distance is from the X-ray machine when exposing the X-ray? I think As long as you are 2 meters away from the machine you are safe. Am i right in thinking this or am I totally wrong?
thanks for any help

Inverse square law. You should either be out the room or behind shielding. If you do need to remain in the room during exposure remember to wear dose badge, lead gown, sleeves and thyroid shield. And stay as far away from primary beam as possible

RE: Xrays safe distance

I probably wouldn't use the word "safe" but yes, I think most scatter radiation loses it's energy after 2 metres.

I'd still be using a protective screen and lead gown etc. though!!
