I haven't done the course, but I always like to know how the markers are when I'm doing exams. I don't know about Girling, but Mary Fraser was one of my lecturers at uni and she's wonderful, and a very very fair marker. I always found that as long as you put a decent amount of work in, you'd pass her exams well (and sitting the exotics exam that she co-wrote was the scariest thing I did!)

i did my exams a few years ago. The practical was fine. We had photos of species to identify, medicines and also actual equipment and food to answer questions on. You'll be fine once you're in there and then you'll wonder what you were worrying about

i did the exam earlier this year.

There were 2 written papers consisting of 40 multiple choice questions, 20 questions on each unit.

The practical exam used a picture as a basis, and then questions associated with the picture.

To be honest, if you revise you will be fine, there are no trick questions.

I used the moodle revision to help, and the 300 q&a exotics book for practice.

The course organisers are great, and the exam day ran to time and went smoothly

I hope this helps you a little. Just relax, revise and go knowing you have done all you can do

tip - if you wear glasses take them for the practical section for the over head projector!
