My little cat is a Flu carrier (FHV) and was initially very poorly. She's fine now except she suffers badly with chronic rhinitis and sinusitis. She's on daily Bisolvon and Metacam and has various antibiotics as she gets frequent infections

RE: Post viral chronic rhinitis

Bless. At least she has a nose to put in the Aerokat. Ours is a Persian so it basically fitted her whole head!

we used it for about 2 years and then found she to,erased it less. But since then the snuffles are few and far between so haven't felt the need to push her back to using it. We've kept it in case we need it but I think the disease changes over time as after a while we started on the eye uLcers as an issue rather than snuffles. We've since removed her right eye as it was the worst affected by far. In 2 years the other eye has only had 1 small ulcer problem.

i gave up on lysine as at the time the tablets were huge and bitter tasting, there are now cat chews so don't know if they are an option or if they make a difference?

RE: Post viral chronic rhinitis

Thanks Jane. Yes, I've just started her back on it as she also has asthma (typical Siamese). I'm going to put her back on anti-virals as well to see if they help. Poor little snuffler! How long/often did you use it for? Thanks

RE: Post viral chronic rhinitis

Have you considered an Aerokat with a steroid inhaler? I used to use one for my chronic rhinitis cat. Really helped her symptoms and she took to it quite easily.
