Network attached storage. You should be able to connect to that via the iPad. Now in human radiography we have a PACS which stands for Picture Archiving & Communication System. Which means we can access images on any PC in hospital that is attached to the hospital network.

RE: x-rays to ipad

[quote user="Elerrina"]

I've been asked to find out about the possibility of making our x-rays viewable on an ipad for clients and surgeons when operating etc. I don't really have much idea of where to start though! We currently use the NX software for x-rays on a pc, does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas?

The best bet is to contact the software company for your radiographs, they are best placed to assist you with this.

RE: x-rays to ipad

do you have a PACS system for storing all your images?

RE: x-rays to ipad

I think they might be wanting too much! ;) but also, is storing X-rays on an iPad only not a bit risky? What if battery empty/iPad breaks/ gets nicked?!..

maybe Nick Shackleton (also a member here, who's gone into human radiography) http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/members/nsvn/default.aspx might be able to help you here :)

RE: x-rays to ipad

That would be too long, they want it so that it basically goes straight to it after the x-ray has been taken. Currently i back up the x-rays and transfer them to our system.
