The vets keep doing horrendous bandages and no matter what I say or how often I try to put myself forward to do bandaging they keep doing it! Yesterday a collie that had dislocated her hip on Monday came in with an ehmer sling

RE: ELASTOPLAST!!!

get in touch with Georgie Hollis, she can get one of her bandaging angels out to give you guys some nice CPD on bandaging

Could you perhaps suggest a bandaging night where you can discuss bandages and even show them how to do them properly? I've been lucky enough to work with vets that realise nurses are better are bandages and are happy enough to hand over the reins in that department. It's always worthwhile pointing out that we learn it.

Do you have the Millpledge bandage book? Maybe leave some lying around?

I would suggest looking for papers or whatever that might show how traumatising super sticky stuff is to the skin and animal but I would also think that's common sense.

RE: ELASTOPLAST!!!

Ouch! We use an adhesive remover spray for these exact cases. It's brill and you can request a free sample which will last you a little while - http://trioveterinarycare.com.
