I will continue to look for articles, and if I find any, then I shall post them on here.

RE: Spot on's causing tumours?

I've had a little google and found this report of a study http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15328714

It was specifically looking at the risk in transitional cell carcinomas in Scottish Terriers and the conclusion was that they did NOT find a link with topical flea treatments. I can't find anything else really, except one reference Oncology for Veterinary Technicians and Nurses - Page 11 which refers to a link with other pesticides, but specifically not with topical flea treatments - referring to the earlier study I think. I did also find something saying that spot-ons were preferable for Scotties, but I can't find it now.

It seems to me that perhaps someone has got the wrong end of the research that's been done. It's easy for rumours to spread, but I can't find anything to back this up. Can anyone else?

RE: Spot on's causing tumours?

Can I just ask if this came from a breeder - specifically a breeder of ragdolls.
