so many answers but seriously i'm just wondering did the auto calibration work after I forwarded you the instructions?

for anyone else that needs this done. the instructions are in your manual, as long as you have a burette to measure the fluid you will be able to achieve this.

Just pick any giving set and then send it off with the drip pump to Burtons and they'll calibrate it to that giving set. So you can have as cheap as long as you want. We use Baxter compatible drip lines

We use Infusion Concepts Evo flo range, they are quite a lot longer than other giving sets and Infusion Concepts can repair, service & calibrate pumps

Hey Steph!

We use the Niki V4 and use barber giving sets. You can also move the stop clips upwards to give you more length to the patient xx

David - the giving sets I tried with the pump were "iinfusion pump compatible", admittedly not Milpledge's own

Nicky that would be the easiest answer..!

It's also over budget (I spend 80p, you'd be spending £4), there's steep competition locally so cannot pass the cost directly onto the client. I do have t-connectors for long-stay patients and I agree they're very useful (even if the vets always hide them under several layers of tape/bandaging!!).

Can you not use an extension set to improve the length, and a t connector to give you a port right next to patient. Just charge them onto your clients as part of the iv set up fee. T connectors nice and handy too for disconnecting to take out for toilet breaks.

just to quickly cover this for you.

1) millpledge have giving sets are "infusion pump compatible" along with the injection port your requiring.

however at every practice I worked in, there were concerns inducing anaesthesia using these, the reason is that you have to take into account once induction has been achieved, you still have a few ml left in the line to flow through. thus giving you a deeper induction. People always say they account for this, but the amount of times people do forget.

3 I would assume the manufacturer to question about this. as they will have their own field techs.
