I'm doing an assignment and need some info on physiological signs of pain for ducks! I've looked online and in several books but can't find much at all. Any duck lovers out there to help??

RE: Ducks!

Thank you both so much, thats very helpful :)

RE: Ducks!

It's maybe worth mentioning that being a prey species, it's perhaps likely that they would not show many signs until they are in very severe pain so as not to appear weak.

For example, lack of appetite, lethargy, changes in respiratory pattern, limping/wing drop, heat/swelling of joints, ruffled feathers, dirty feathers/lack of preening, being picked on by others. Some of these are also signs of illness/injury, but that's the same in all species when there is a cross over in the signs. HTH
Good luck with your assignment x
