BSAVA are planning on running a Merit Award in Diagnostic Imaging (worth 30hrs CPD)

The RVC are running a 12 week Diagnostic Imaging Course next year too (worth 60 hours CPD)

You could give up and study for three years full time to become a radiographer. I didn't as couldn't afford it. I trained as an assistant practitioner. Worked full time for the nhs and studied part time for a foundation degree.

Hi , I have been looking for an alternative to Veterinary Nursing for similar reasons. How did you go about re training , did you have to give up work completely to study or were you able to learn on the job ? Thanks Emily.

It is a shame that we have lost someone, with such expertise and passion for radiography from the Veterinary nurse community.

Could you advise me on any good books that you feel may help?

There are a few. One is a radiation protection course and the other is an MRI cert. I loved radiography that much I joined the NHS. I now work in radiogeaphy full time. i felt frustrated after completing my advanced diploma. As really enjoyed radiography but no where to go or courses to do. That was five years ago so things may of improved. Might be worth getting some good text books too. You might want to contact your local dental specialist. They may be able to give you a few pointers where dental radiography is concerned
