I have a 7month lurcher who I have an anti gulp bowl for as he hoovers his food! He has already had a gastic distension/dilation due to getting into his food supply! (He is getting pexied at neutering time shortly! ) anyway, he is now taken a growth

RE: Raised anti gulp bowls, such a thing?

Hi

As above you can't buy them combined, but I brought a wall mounted wood stand from ebay which folds up when you don't need it, I then place by dogs anti gulp bowl on this and it fits over it. My friend also does similar with her dane, she has a metal raised food/water stand with a stainless steel bowl. When its feeding time she just places the anti gulp bowl over the original stainless steel bowl. If your dog still eats really fast with the bowl then you need to drop down several sizes.. My friends lurcher has a tiny anti gulp bowl, but it works at stopping him eating to quick as he can hardly get his nose in! My mini schnauzer eats really quick also so I often just scatter his food (kibble) and also use the busy buddy squirrel toy or there are loads of other interactive feeding toys which you could try to slow your pooch down, and also make dinner time more fun/rewarding...

RE: Raised anti gulp bowls, such a thing?

Hi,

How about a 'green feeder' (available on-line from Pets at Home). I've had great results with dogs that gobble in 5 seconds or less and slowing rate of eating down to 15 minutes in one case!

So depending on the size of his anti-gulp bowl this could be an option (if you can't buy and all-in-one)! I've never seen a combination one but would be a good idea!
