It is an assistant position with lots of room for CPD and training later on down the road. I will be working there for awhile before hand so that they can be sure of my work ethic ect because it is a huge investment on vet clinics parts so they like to be sure :)

I was trying for ages and ages to get a permanent position but more often then not it was either a rejection straight out because of lack of space or not doing training any more or no reply at all. I can remember one time getting a slip from the postman saying that there was a letter that needed postage paid on it because it wasn't paid properly. So I went to pick up the letter and pay the postage thinking that maybe my family who live in the States had sent me a letter and miscalculated the postage. Turned out it was a rejection letter from one of the practices saying that they didn't have anything for me. I had the pay the postage for my own rejection letter :-/

Finally when another position opened up I sent along my CV and a couple of days later called to make sure it was received properly and I think because of that I got an interview =)

My advice really is to keep at it and don't give up :)

yay! well done you, sounds like your interview and trial morning went well and you obviously gave a good impression. keep us posted on your first day etc.

oh well done!, that';s great news and shows that hard work and persistent searching does pay off. I've been trying for 3 years and that's given me hope to keep trying a while longer.

What is your new job ? Is it a trainee in a TP?
