our vets have commented that it feels quite greasy, and i have to wash my hands after i have finished scrubbing up for a procedure as if you accidentally put a pinger in your mouth with it leaves a strong taste on your hands.... as for the smell of sterilium...! jeeze it is over powering and i actually wonder if it is flammable!

Hands do feel slightly greasy until it is properly dry, it does take longer to dry than standard hand gels

personally I am not keen on the blue sterilium (not sure if this is what you are talking about as I don't go into theatre but we have had this on the outside as an alternative to the alco-gel) my main issue with it (and I am aware it might just be me) is that it made my hands very slippery and I ended up dropping things like IV's etc when I used it prior to trying to place them. when I brought this issue up with the rep who came in she got very annoyed with me pointing out that I had a problem with it and I was made to feel like I was in the wrong, when all I did was point out my issues with it.

We use it routinely and everyone happy with it. They came and did staff training when we were swopping and showed us how to use it properly.

I see more practices starting to use it as it is a good fit with the training our company provides.

If you spend a day using it.... you will really notice a difference as your hands are much softer.
