I have Schnauzers who also have similar issue, they don't have quite as much lip fold, but much more beard! I permenantly keep the area clipped and Malaseb twice weekly, and I find this keeps it under control. My dogs will now sit in the bath and wait out the 10 minutes contact time before rinising off. I have seen dogs who have had lip fold resection, and it does seem to make a difference, so would suggest they consider going for a consult/referral about surgery if medication not working, so they have all the infomation to make an informed decision.. They are a breed particlarly prone to it.. I would also reccomend using a road refresher water bowl also as it prevents the face from getting really wet when drinking, and also keeping his face as dry as possible. Also is the area infected?? May need to be swabbed then appropiate antibiotic given

Re: lip fold dermatitis

Bless him, I love Spinonies! Would a barrier cream help keep it less wet? how often do they clean it? I'd think it would need several times a day.
