One of our vets contributed a write up after using it to treat a Labrador that ingested horse wormers given to a donkey in a donut!
Sounds like its a available in emergency vet practices now but we sourced ours from our local hospital.

Re: Intralipid

It can be used as parental nutrition but needs to be mixed with other nutrients as you can over dose it.
Doses are available in the most recent BSAVA formulary. I used to work for Vets Now and I love intralipid!! We successfully treated cats with permethrin poisoning and dogs with organophosphate, baclofen, mould toxicity and horse wormer toxicity!

Re: Intralipid

http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/ucvmc_sd/local-assets/pdfs/parenteral_nutrition_waltham_focus.pdf discussion on parenteral nutrition does mention Intralipid but certainly wouldn't be first choice!

Re: Intralipid

Working for Vets Now we have intralipid in stock - we tend to use it potential toxicity cases - Ava Firth and Andy Brown wrote a paper on its uses and there is a link here - but think you need a log in to Vet ECC journal - http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1476-4431.2011.00657.x/abstract

Vets Now toxbox locations stock the product - http://www.vpisuk.co.uk/portal/Vets/Toxbox/tabid/145/Default.aspx will show you your nearest location but is fairly reasonably priced to stock in general practice
