When I went for christmas i needed a cardi in the evenings - very seasonal weather it even rained twice!

Sounds very odd.....I was there as a single woman on my own and never encountered any problems and felt very safe there, crime in Dubai is one of the lowest in the world.

Weather wise in winter its around 30'c...perfect for sunbathing!

My family live out there - if I didn't have commitments here I would be gone in a flash. One thing to be said for them is if they are employing you, you are really looked after. Going over in June and can't wait!

I would love to do something like this! Unfortunately I'm not qualified yet, but I'm looking forward to taking up these kinds of opportunities in the future! Dubai is not somewhere I'd thought about before, although not somewhere I'd rule out- if only for the opportunity of working with exotic species.

I worked out there a few years back at a breeding centre for arabian leopards and had an awesome time.....dubai is a fantastic multicultural city, i met some of my best friends there and the wages are all tax free which is a bonus!

It is VERY hot in summer (over 50'c sometimes!) with high humidity though so you do have to like the heat......Obviously it's a muslin country, you hear the mosque calling 5 x daily and see locals dressed in robes with head scarves etc but nobody preaches to you about it and it really doesnt interfer at all with your daily life, you can drink alcohol and wear strappy tops which is a common misconception about the place too!

If you are young free and single i would really recommend it, i think both jobs would give any nurse a fantastic experience in working with exotic species

I suppose that is one of the things to consider.

The lady I know who moved out there absolutely loves it though. She worked there for a year before her family moved out.

I've never been to Dubai, but I would like to visit there!

I wouldn't because l do not like the idea of a muslim country, l can not abide religion and the thought of living in a religious country is offensive to me. And the reality of those "wonderful" jobs l have my doubts on.
