We need to wrap a heavier surgical kit and are having difficulties with the sterilisation nylon film coming undone in the steriliser so am thinking to move to wrapping technique.

If your wrapping in drapes ensure even coverage with drapes to ensure even penetration during sterilisation. We used to use TST strips in boxes to ensure adequate sterilisation. We used to do THR and these kits came in metal boxes these were wrapped in several layers of drape and TST strips in between each layer.
