Have used the alcohol as a quick method so long as it is given fast enough and yes it works.. if given in time.

Can anyone remember if the alcohol binds to the antifreeze, thus stopping it doing the damage, or does it bind to the site that the antifreeze would have bound too, thus preventing the antifreeze from doing the damage???

I think it is the latter, but if anyone knows different let me know.

Hi Holly, she is fine, and if it were antifreeze she would be dead by now. Antifreeze is toxic for all species. I dont know about the turquoise wee in antifreeze cases but a microscopy will show calcium oxalate, and also their bloods urea/ crea/ increase and calcium decrease if memory serves me.You will also get casts on the microscopy, and unless you actually see a cat/dog consume the antifreeze, and treat immediately then the outcome is a dead pet I am afraid.

iv heard that when cats cosume atifreeze the way u can tell is that their urine is turquoise in colour. I dont know if it turns the poo that colour too tho. I could be wrong, i just remember something said in college about that. and how its extremely toxic to cats but dont know if this is the same for dogs. dont want to alarm you. what is he like now?

White poos = poos from dogs fed raw bones. Mine used to produce white poos all the time when I fed them raw beef bones from the butcher.

Chew once did a sand poo, after being at St Andrews! It wasn't a full poo, it was in layers!! I'm sure I took a photo (as you do!) I'm going to look it out!
