they have been told for Their NPL they must write they wear Ppe.
College said they won't say anything that we don't wear it.

[/quote]

My advice clarify this yourself with the college - there is nothing so simple it cannot be misunderstood, and if the college is giving their students the wrong information (which lets face it wouldnt be the first time this has happened at various places) at least it can be corrected before your students get into the exam.

Re: Is it law to wear PPE for every x ray you take

I would say only if you're in the room during exposure and not protected by lead wall/glass such as inflating chest or during fluro in theatre using the C-Arm.

Re: Is it law to wear PPE for every x ray you take

Yeh we wear them nick but college have told our students they must wear aprons and gloves at all times? This is what I don't understand, they have been told for Their NPL they must write they wear Ppe.
College said they won't say anything that we don't wear it.
We only wear it in extreme circumstances, we are always out of the room when we press the button.
Our Ppe is like new and our rpa said that's good shows we don't use it often.
Just really worried after hearing this from students
Thank you xx

Re: Is it law to wear PPE for every x ray you take

our ruling is unless you are in the room you don't need PPE, we have lead walls and lead lined glass windows. If we are inflating or doing fluoroscopy and therefore in the room, we wear full PPE (gown/gloves and thyroid protector) and stand behind a lead screen as scatter can still bounce round it.

We regularly have our RPA in as we work for a uni and he is doing some research with us and he is happy with this way of doing things...if it was to be any different he would tell us......plus it would be a pain if we did as we take rads all day long and therefore it would be hard work for our radiography nurse/everyone involved in the sedation etc
