you need to work out the number of Mg required for body weight then I have always used the formula what mg you want / strenght of medicaton of what you have.

e.g you need 4mg but the solution is 10mg/ml = 4/10 = 0.4ml (as in there is 4mg in that 0.4mls)

divide what you want by what you have got in a nuthell.

Synulox inj for dogs is 1ml/20kg so 0.05ml/kg - (it says it on the side of the bottle)

Maybe a bit of a dangerous way of doing things as drugs come in different strengths so it could only be a matter of time before something was o/d if people are working in ml/kg - much safer practice to work in mg/kg and I have a quick ref. dose sheet of commonly used drugs if you would like it.
