Euk Intestinal is just plain Intestinal here and Intestinal plus overseas and is the diet rec'd if low residue is required. Typically by the time I found this out the cat is doing much better and eating the diet we sent it home on and the constipation seems to be sorting itself out... If however things worsen at least we have the answer. Thanks for your help

Re: Feline Low Residue Diet

yeah I know that sort I get them all the time lol. I will check my info at work and pick the brains of the guys there and hopefully come up with a workable plan for you!

Re: Feline Low Residue Diet

Thanks Steph! it's one of those typical awkward cases where meds are not an option at all for the client and it's non fibre responsive. If we can't find a commercial diet I am going to be pulling my brains out trying to work out a home cooked option, argh !!!
Fingers crossed I will get to speak to someone from Eukanuba as the digestive plus gets amazing reviews in the US

Re: Feline Low Residue Diet

Hey, sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you I've only just logged on this weekend.....I'm gonna apologise in advance if I suggest things that have already been suggested.....

I'm presuming high fibre diets are not an option as you have already tried these?

Have you tried adding pro-fibre to the diet?

alternatively working the other way round.....have.....lactulose/ranitidine(zantac)/metoclopromide been trialled (I know they are not diets but they are treatment options)

I'll have a look at all my info I have on the computer at work tomorrow and also pick some brains and see what they come up with and reply again

Re: Feline Low Residue Diet

It's for a constipated cat, usual high fibre choices are not an option.
