Hi, i have a cairne terrier that requires a full cast for six weeks....it invariably slips down below her foot every few days and requires re-placement,,,,,healings not going well so last ditch attempt before amputation so would really appreciate any ideas, however 'outside of the box' they may be to be able to keep the cast on. This is a tibia fracture and she has a very small, thin leg....

Thanks, Hayley.

Cuts down on the risk of pressure sores, nice and light, can be left on for a long time and if you get it right they appear to be very comfortable and less prone to soiling. I used this with one of my cats and it did extremely well. For something as small as a cairn you should be able to use a very sturdy wire coat hanger to make your own, they really aren't difficult

Re: Ideas to stop a cast slipping....?

have you tried a split cast with a robert jones
