thanks for the replys, i will keep looking into it because i am sure there is a link, where i used to work we saw loads on a regular basis but stoke is a very hard water area but we dont see to many where i am now but it is a softer water area!!!

If I remember rightly there was something about the high magnesium content in hard water?

not that its much help but we never ever ever Well about once a year if that have a blocked cat while 10 miles up the road they regulaly get 10 - 16 kennels full of blocked cats. It is the water. We have sore eyes. Every third pet in has sore eyes. Its the blowing sand . Publish you research. It sounds interseting.

I'm pretty sure one of the recent VNJ's had a paper about blocked cats in it, not regarding hard water, but it was about management of the emergency etc.
