I was just wondering how everyone sterilises their suture needles. At my practice we currently use an old method of keeping them in surgical spirit after thoroughly cleaning them medizyme. Are there any pouches that can be used that are not easily

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

Thank you everyone, I'll have a look and try persuade the practice to buy some!

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

Veterinary instrmentation do little plastic cases which we put ours in then steralise with kits

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

We use the little plastic boxes from Veterinary Instrumentation or if none available we fold a gauze swab in half & thread the needles through just to keep them together in place :)

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

We use the plastic needle boxes from JAK also, work fine for us!

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

https://shop.jakmarketing.co.uk/product_detail.php?prod_id=1278&catid=33

We use these little plastic containers to sterilse our needles in the autoclave. We used to have the metal ones but they seem to make the needles rust/wear quicker. We just put needles in it and then place it in a self seal autoclave bag.

Hope you find something that suits you x

Re: Suture needle sterilisation

there have been a couple of threads about this not long ago, heres the search results:
