We had our 1st case of flystrike this summer last week and it was in a cat. Does anyone know of anything that can be applied after they are removed as most the rabbit preps are permethrin based.
We clipped and cleaned the area and wanted to

Re: Flystrike in Cats

Rearguard is safe to use in cats but may not be suitable depending on the larval stage. If you are sure you have got all of them it would be good for ongoing prevention.

Re: Flystrike in Cats

F10 Spray cannot be used on cats. I phoned the company up before hand about it!

I don't know of a product that can be used. Just lots of eyes and many pairs of tweezers!!! (Although combs can help a lot too and cotton buds for large mass quantities of them!)

Re: Flystrike in Cats

Hmmm,

I have heard of F10 being used? I know someone currently using it on a sheep? Dont think it has permethrin base to it (PLEASE CHECK AS NOT 100% SURE)

There should be F10 spray you can use.
