In my experience due to anatomical structure of a bull dog even with tilted table you are likely to get some degree of hyperventilation/apnoea leading to hypercapnia leading to the need to ventilate the patient and the circle is ideal for prolonged ventilation. IPPV can be performed using other circuits such as a Bain, however this circuit requires high FGFR. The Lack is ok for short periods of IPPV but not ideal.
