Word of mouth is the best possible way of telling the world.

You can see on Facebook lots of reviews including Charlotte Ward (British International Dressage Team) who recently posted a review saying how well it worked for one of her stressed horses !!!

Have a look at the Pet Remedy Facebook page...There are lots of reviews and comments there which will give you confidence.

You will see it really works not just for cats and dogs, but rabbits, ferrets, horses,, parrots, and even their owners!!!

Great to hear you have tried the spray.

The smell is from the valerenol and valerenic acid in the valerian which is a bit smelly although many pets love it, especially cats. These are the main actives in the blend that help calm fired up nerve cells.

This is why we blend it with vetiver and basil and sage to give a more herbal and earthy smell. I have explained more about how it works in a reply to another post which you can see if you like.

Hi Celine... I have just read your concern about the aroma

Pet Remedy is valerian based but blended with vetiver (from Indonesia and Nepal) and basil and sage./ All of these essential oils work via the GABA pathway, but they are carefully blended to balance the aroma, so it smells more earthy and herbal and not toooo much just of valerian as valerian is really a bit smelly. Most cats really love the aroma!!!

The clever thing is the low dosage and constant slow release. This is very gentle on any mammal (so cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, ferrets, even their owners!) and birds

How does it work? The actives trick a fired up (by adrenaline) nerve cell into thinking it is getting a calming message from the brain. (This by the way is how the benzodiazepines work...They mimic GABA)

Does it work... well just look at the reviews and comment on the Facebook page!!! Also big study on 50 stressed dogs currently under way at Exeter University. Going really well and half way through the trial...Comprises double blind trials, videoing, heart monitoring and cortisol level tesing.

The sprays are water based and PH neutral so safe on your skin and on the coat of the pet. Simply spray on bedding or bandana, or rub a little on their muzzle, under chin, and on chest... Really works.

Mmm, couldn't comment on the effect but we had one plugged in for a couple weeks and it does have a noticeable smell - not entirely unpleasant but I'd consider it a "strong" smell and I did feel that cats might be a bit offended by it, but then I'm always a bit suspicious of using essential oils near cats, sensitive little tyrants that they are...

We have only used the little samples you can get at congress, to me it is very much like feliway/adaptil... it seems to depend on the animal! My only sound comment on the product Pet Remedy is it smells like damp washing!
