Hey, i didnt know the temp of the water mattered (normall ours is reasonably cold anyway) but always striving to learn - can you fill me in on why its important for it to me freezing cold?

I didnt mean freezing cold water should be used i ment people using freezing cold water to prepare a surgical site, i always always use warm water. Just the way ive always done it, i see it as patients under anaethetic is unable to regulate their own body temp, on one side were using a heat pad to support them, then some people scrub with freezing cold water, it just doesnt make sense we should be using as warm as we can (obvs not boiling dont wanna scold them:|). Its just a little something extra we can do to help with keeping the surgical site warm whilst we can.

I think Kirstie meant that using freezing cold water is bad? As it would contribute to the patient losing body heat?

I think the importance of asepsis needs to be highlighted, a lot of people cane be quite blase about it x
