I've done the Diploma and just started the application to top up to the BSc. Yes I'm up for studying more hours than I have.

Re: Diploma...where to start?

Off the top of my head I can't quite remember, I want to say 20 hours but this is all self directed learning so u can do as little or as much as you like but I expect your grades will be reflected in this. This is why u have to have the motivation to do it I think because u need to push yourself and organise/ prioritise your time well.

Re: Diploma...where to start?

Sazzie, Can I ask how much time you need to spend studying each week?

Re: Diploma...where to start?

They dont split up the advanced dip anymore into surgical and medical, however, you can choose modules with a more medical bias in the second year of study.

Currently, places which run courses accredited by the RCVS (which then allows you to do a project in order to gain your blue badge) are Myerscough College and Harper Adams college. There is a framework for the diploma on the RCVS website.

Alternatively the RVC run a grad dip qualification which is similar but I am not as familiar with.

It is a substantial course and quite a lot of hard work, it takes commitment so shouldn't be entered into light heartedly. That said, I couldn't be happier with my choice to do it, I am in my second year and it has completely changed the way I nurse and improved my confidence levels no end. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I would have a look on the relevant websites for more detailed info on these courses
