place the barrel of the syringe upright on a slide and secure with bull dog clips, seal end with vaseline.

So I am thinking that the top end 'wings' of the syringe are flat against the slide, seal around the end/ held in place with the bulldog-clips, one to each wing, you instil your fluid through the syringe hub end, seal top end and then wait....

?? any help ??
