&lt;p&gt;Just&amp;nbsp;place the leads in the normal place, you should still be able to get lead I, Lead II, Lead III. During these you are only ever using 2 leads, so the 3rd acts as the earth. If you wanted aVR, aVL &amp;amp; aVF you would need a 4th lead to act as ane arth. Wheter your machine still needs this you&amp;#39;ll have to check. Really you may find you don&amp;#39;t need the a (augmented leads) these are calculated using the other leads anyway and thenmagnified.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I guess it&amp;#39;s up to the vets what is needed, why dont you test it on a willing human guinea pig :)&amp;nbsp;I&amp;#39;ve attached a useful diagram we have by our ECG machine, it is great for trouble shooting why a particular lead isn&amp;#39;t working.&lt;/p&gt;
