I also used Vetlink when I worked in Australia for a year and a half and they were excellent....the recession has hit everywhere though and there were a lot fewer jobs a few months ago when I looked than there were a few years ago.

If you contact vetlink and let them know you are going to Oz they will put you on their mailing list for locum positions.

I was in NZ recently and it was much harder to find VN work there

I have also worked in Dubai as a VN as well as in Thailand, although that was as a volunteer, (its much harder to find paid employment is Asia and difficult due to visa requirements) and both were thoroughly enjoyable experiences, i think if you have the opportunity to be a VN abroad then you should take it, you'll gain lots of experiences and meet lots of wierd and wonderful animals!

Have a look on www.wvs.org.uk they have heaps of volunteer places all over the world and alot of charities cover the cost of flights and accomodation.

Re: Vetlink Employment Services/ working abroad

There is also this one, kookaburravets who cover other countries (Aus etc).

They were exceptionally helpful with helping me find locum posistions. I told them the area i wanted and then they sorted everything. I had one contact who kept in touch to make sure the job was going well and i was happy.

Any problems i had they addressed quickly. I would throughly recommend them as a agency.

I am looking to locum in NZ in about a yr and half and i will be using them again.

Hope this helps anything else just ask.
