what's the difference between a poultice and a wet to dry?

Concise define a poultice as : A preparation of hot moist material spread between layers of gauze and applied to an area of the body surface to soothe pain or draw pus. A poultice can be prepared from a mix of kaolin and glycrine or fom cooked cereals.

Wet-to=-dry: Wet-to-dry dressings are not required to be warm. Usually swabs soaked in saline. placed over the wound and they debride the wound as they dry out.
