We are just dressing it for the weekend and it may well need amputated, however if we do not amputate I would like to get the dressings right

Re: Severe degloving injury

I would use honey dressings, had some very good results with them. Cheaper than silver dressings as well .

If you have the Kruuse dressings they advise to use the AD dressings with an exudating wound before using the ND dressings. Personally I don't like the AD dressings and use ND dressings throughout the healing process until I think allevyn and intrasite is more appropriate to prevent over-granulation

Hope this helps

Re: Severe degloving injury

have a look at the wound library or their facebook page you can always pick brains there, it is run by georgie hollis who is amazing with wounds and what dressings to use

Re: Severe degloving injury

I prefer honey, or have you tried silver dressings? Called Acticoat, has to be moistened before application and soaked well in water to remove but they work really well!
