I've had my cat since she was 9 weeks old (now 18months) and she honestly is the most awesome adorable funny cat in the ENTIRE WORLD!! Over the past week though I have noticed

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

Forgot to mention my cat has also started growling when someone knocks on the door, think its because of how dramatically the postman knocks that it has startled him and me quite a few times and now. But yes prob best to get her looked over, could be medical and behaviour are hand in hand e.g. behaviour change due to pain because of abcess...abcess caused by cat which has caused behaviour change due to anxiety.

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

Thanks for everyones comments so far!

Pleased to say DeeleyCat was waiting for me meowing as I got home last night and she came for cuddles later in the evening too. She still seems very weary when I'm on my feet...? There are new neighbours with 2 children 2 doors down from me and she is SOOOOO friendly, I think maybe they possibly arent cat people...??? This is the only thing that has changed, even though she is a small cat she is very feisty and there have been no other cats about since we moved in as she quickly scared them off.

I have never and would never hurt her, and she isnt weary of me anymore when she is on my bed or on the sofa its just when im standing she competely avoids me now... Definitely think I will have her looked over, just to make sure she is ok... Makes my blood boil to think that someone could possibly have kicked her or something!!!

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

Check for any bite wounds or sore places, my cat had an abcess that started this way.

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

Another possibility could be another cat in the area which may have started entering your cats environment, also I know my cat suddenly goes a bit odd when I have forgotten to change out my uniform before I come home. Its really worth changing your clothes first before you arrive home and dont leave them out, I have found my cat smelling my work top before and the next minute he was launching himself at my arm and biting me (not like him at all -but that was also the night after a big ginger cat invaded our garden - think he had got very spooked and the smell and pheromones of other cats on my clothes scared him )

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

She is a beauty bless her, look at that smile

I agree vet check to rule out pain, she may even have a painful back or something that you cant see.

Hope she feels better soon

Re: Change of behaviour in my Cat :-(

poor you - you should get her checked by a vet though to make sure no signs of injury or that they cannot elicit pain from her. Quite often they may seem bright but behavioural changes can be due to pain.

Make sure nothing in house has changed dramatically

if all this is ok I would suggest trying to use some feliway
