I am a student veterinary nurse (hopefully soon to be qualified as I have just re sat my second lot of dreaded practical exams) and when I qualify I would like to look into becoming a canine hydrotherapist. My interest developed in this field

Re: Hydrotherapy Qualifications

Hi to the both of you and thanks for your replies. I have seen the Hawksmoor courses and they do look really good. I had however found a potential training centre at Whitehouse Canine Hydrotherapy Centre which is a lot closer to me to try and complete the training whilst still being in work at the veterinary practice. They are associated with Greyfriars Rehabilitation Referral Centre. I wondered if anyone would mind commenting on what they thought of the course they run (link below) which they call the Fast Track ABC Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy. It looks to me to be very detailed and it is something that I would be able to complete quite easily alongside my job. Anyway, if anyone has the chance to look at it then that would be great. http://www.caninehydrotherapytraining.co.uk/pdfs/Whitehouse%20Training%20-%20Fast%20Track%20Certificate%20in%20Hydrotherapy.pdf

Re: Hydrotherapy Qualifications

I have taken lots of the Hawksmoor courses and couldnt recommend them high enough.
Sue Hawkins is the lady that wrote the actual L3 qualification they're looking for; the CHA and NARCH want this qualification. It's being revised and refreshed for 2013. She's really nice, very friendly and has a really nice hydrotherapy centre near nuneaton. (Apparently the place has a ghost, too, but I haven't seen him myself.)

Good luck!

Cheers,
Mark
