He's male and quite placid so doesn't fight back, just grumbles. I've given up trying to stop her because I just end up shouting at her all the time, but if I can catch her early, she stops and let's go when I say off. It mostly happens when I haven't exercised her properly, or she is over tired or over excited. I've just had to accept that it is part of her..... She doesn't try it with any of my other cats. Talking to a local trainer, she was saying that they actually get pleasure from it, and without wanting to sound crude, it becomes self-rewarding.... Which makes sense especially if you watch them. It also makes it more difficult to stop especially if you are not very mobile, and it also becomes pointless getting angry with them/ punishing
them because it won't get you anywhere, and they end up being frightened. All I can suggest is try and get her to find a dog walker.... She is still very young/ a teenager, and a lot will be pure frustration from not enough exercise and stimulation, and also suggest mental games eg kongs/ buster cubes and she could play hide and seek with food around the house... I find this 'sniffa_dog' game with Dots works atreat, and she is cream-crackered after 2 or 3 searches, if I can't walk her properly.

Re: Shih Tzu mounting the cats!!!

Yes this could be the problem unfortunately when I suggested things the owner wasnt very willing to take on the suggestions, I think she was wanting a quick fix like a tablet!
