We have placed a plaster cast as a support dressing but the poor thing is very unhappy - tachypnoeic, dull, inappentant. What can I give him as emergency painrelief? I have some Metacam I got for my dog

Re: **URGENT** Analgesia for 3 day old Lamb w/fracture - HELP!

I would steer away from metacam in such a young animal, plus not licensed either. get in touch with your local mixed practice, they will be able to help.

Re: **URGENT** Analgesia for 3 day old Lamb w/fracture - HELP!

hello, I would check with a vet as im sure your not supposed to use metacam on very young animals as it can knacker their kidneys x

Re: **URGENT** Analgesia for 3 day old Lamb w/fracture - HELP!

Hey Funkyfish,

Or you may need to stomach tube it milk. Stabilising the fracture will help with the pain but I would give it something more if it was mine. Can you call a local mixed/large animal practice for advice?
