My own rabbit (1yr old Giant German Lop) has developed partial paralysis of her hindlimbs so we have comenced her on Fenbendazole course

Re: Rabbit Hindlimb paralysis

I would definately adv to take some xrays before doing any hydrotherapy or anything like that. (Also not sure a rabbit will cope with hydrotherapy too well)? We would look at density of bone as well as for any other abnormalities.

It might be worth seeing if does have E caniculi by taking bloods, could do biochem profile as well perhaps.

We see a lot of rabbits - if you are reasonably near Yorkshire you could refer to Frances for an opinion.

You can PM me if you want.

Re: Rabbit Hindlimb paralysis

I was about to say the same as Mark. Feeling the spine is not going to show spinal abnormalities (unless severe), unless the vet has xray hands that is.....

Re: Rabbit Hindlimb paralysis

No not yet, spinal feels normal on palpation but think this is the next step

Re: Rabbit Hindlimb paralysis

Any xrays taken?
