Can anyone give me some advice/knowledge on possible treatments/what to expect please? Obviously, working with wildlife this is an unknown zone for me, but I'd like to help her

Re: Heart tumour

Cardiac tumours are often haemangiosarcomas although are usually more common in dogs. And other tumours are also possible. Is the cat insured? In which case would referral be an option? They will be able to give you the best treatment and best outcome.

I have seen removal of aortic tumours but i believe if they are attatched to the heart itself it wouldnt be possible. I have only seen removal of aortic tumours in dogs though so i dont know whether it would be possible in a cat.

Also if the tumours are just in the thoracic cavity it could be thoracic lymphoma, which responds well to chemo, especially in cats.

Referral would be your best option, alternatively as with alot of tumours you could try steroids to reduce the size of the mass, but that should only be considered when you have ruled out all other possible treatments.
